2022 Energon cube review (EcoFlow Delta PRO 1600W Battery On Wheels)

BrewstersBillions.org

2 weeks with an energon cube review (EcoFlow Delta PRO 1600W Battery On Wheels)currently $3600 Out Of Stock

Coldest-Hottest months energy bill is about $2.50 per day so an ideal energon cube for a family of 4 should be able to output $10 a day and be able to fully recharge via sun/wind.

Really would enjoy a box you can bury that eats it’s own waste and can generate power for a decade or longer, but no SMRs or Ford Nucleons for us, no money in the cure & all that jazz…

Kickstarter In July. Delivered Mid December.

400W Solar panels won’t arrive till Mid Jan 2022. Now $1200 and also currently sold out.

Paid $2000 for the battery $700 For The Panels, Call It $3000 all money in.

Currently Sold Out and now retails for $3600, Costco might carry the 1200W Version currently $2900 .

Assuming this is 1st 1000 of consumer units on the planet.

LFP battery with 6500 cycles

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP or LiFePO4)

Approx 100 pounds with built in dolly that seems sturdy enough, I already had a $70 cosco dolly that folds two ways I placed it on, makes it much easier to move throughout the house and keeps it raised off floor. Does’nt seem to get hot temp stays around 70 degrees with laser/infrared thermometer on it. Fans are quiet can’t hear when movie or music playing.

Theoretically 1 Person could get this out to a remote site much easier with 2 of course.

I’d say if you wanted to run without sacrificing many modern comforts without direct access to a power grid, 5 units would do.

So 5 Batteries & 5 Solar Attachments at around $15,000 & 1 to a few people should be able to enjoy a daily hot shower/water and run all appliances.

It comes with 4 grounded plugs, I use a 6 ft 9 plug surge extension cord, with the 4ft included power cord it lets you store 10 ft away, I’d suggest a 100 foot weather proof extension cord to give it additional portability.

3 out of 4 states I’ve lived in there’s enough sun to justify, I assume in the years to come wind attachments will become available.

Can use as a UPS so it will draw from grid if electronics/appliances plugged directly in, if power goes off it will then switch to battery power.

Modern Vornado Space heater could heat a large room for 2 hours, so stock the firewood and budget for the geo thermal. This won’t keep you warm for long.

Will run a fridge/freezer for about 8 hours.

12 Hours it ran a 14 foot by 9 ft projector, notebook, & raspberry pi400.

Can do a movie marathon or tv binge session out in the woods somewhere.

Will run a notebook for 2 days.

Will run a TV for 1.5 Days.

Will run a crock pot for 12 hours.

Took 3 hours to fully charge notebook.

Took 2 hours to fully charge phone.

Took 30 minutes to fully charge kindle.

Don’t own a tesla or electric car most likely never will, so can’t test to see how much it charges one but it can if that’s your thing.

So running a hot plate, tea kettle, and minor appliances is a breeze.

Ideally I’d like this to cost $1500 all in.
$750 for the battery $750 for the panels.

At the $2000 paid for it $3000 all in, if it lasts 5 years its $2 a day, 10 years $1

I’d say it outputs almost $1 worth of electricity per day. Don’t think I’d pay current prices unless I truly had a need/use for it. It’s now selling for pretty much double the kickstarter amount.

20+ years as an adult I average $2 a day for all my electric needs, $2.50-3 if running ac/heat.

Received 10 year warranty for early kickstater bonus.

Don’t have any concert speakers to test a DJ set up but should be able run a party most of the night.

They’ll never give us SMRs but if you put in 15K into this technology & it lasts you 10 years it will cost $4.11 per day.

Pair it with geo thermal and wind it’s a lot easier to live off grid. Well for water, starlink for internet.

App is nice as an option, but should be built into screen for the price. No need for phone app.

Should have a page you can download firmware, load onto a usb stick and update with no app or email address needed.

Overall not mad at the purchase long as it lasts 5 years.

1st time using kickstarter and the dates, billing, description etc…everything was truthful.

Get this thing to 50 pounds with double the output please : ) maybe in 5-10 years….

Will charge nights and use it to power all my day time electronics minus fridge to see if it lowers bill, but that’s pretty much the only other testing I can do with it, it’s just a battery and using less than $3 a day for ALL electricity/hot water/heat/ac is more than a fair price.

Takes 8 hours to fully charge on slow so just the sun is not going to get this to 100% everyday.

I’m a projector guy so it would run that, my internet, notebook, raspiblitz'(banks mp.money), a raspberry pi400 for least 8 hours a day so does solve entertainment.

2 units in tandem could prob run a fridge/freezer 24/7
1 unit to heat water.
1 unit for entertainment set up.
1 unit for misc.

Pretty sure others will post more technical reviews just my two cents.

Side note when first received plugged into charge on same circuit projector was running, switch the switch from slow to fast on back and after a few minutes it tripped the circuit.

No damage was done, reset the breaker and kept in on slow since, would’nt charge via car lighter adapter unless it was an emergency think it would tax the alternator/battery.

Not sure how much if any the electric bill changed only been using it 2 weeks, if anything dramatic I’ll update post, otherwise will post another review in a few months after solar panels arrive.

I’d say a must have for an RV owner, cabin out in the woods, deserted island, remote job site with lots of power tools, food truck, charging station…..

Final thoughts, I’d pay the same $2700 if I really needed something like this & it shipped same day or was available locally instead of the 6 months but not the $3600 it is now. Feel it’s more of a $1000-$1500 product. Think card was charged in October so about 2 months prior to shipping but that was known upfront.
